All NHS members who attended the meeting with the Red Cross representative last week will meet on Friday, Jan. 20 at 7:40 a.m. in Mr. Rink's room (410).
All NHS members participating in the Tri-County Animal Shelter activity this Sunday will meet on Friday, Jan. 20 at 7:55 a.m. in Mr. Rink's room (410).
Weight room will be open for girls only on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. There will be a workout plan for you in the weight room. See your coach if you have any questions.
The talent show will be held on Friday, February 17th. We need 10 acts, so sign up! Tryouts are on Monday, February 13th.

Congratulations to the gymnastics team for breaking the school record with a score of 146.85 last weekend at the Lakeville invite. Come support your #1 ranked team by riding the fan bus to the State True Team meet next Saturday, January 28 at Becker. The bus leaves at 10:00 AM and the cost is $5.00

Congratulations to the Melrose/Sauk Centre Boys' Swimming and Diving Team who qualified for the State True Team Swimming and Diving meet on Saturday. Medal winners from Melrose include John Schwieters, Brent Blommel, Aaron Stalboerger, Jared Von Wahlde, Phil Budde, and Matthew Beste. The team will compete at the State Meet this Saturday at the U of M.
Congratulations Dance Team for a great 2nd place finish in both high kick and jazz at your home meet last night!! Make sure to come watch them this Saturday as they compete at NL-S at noon.
Musical Students: If you ordered a DVD of the musical they are in, you can pick them up from Audrey in the senior high office. Cost is $10.00.
Sign up for the 2012 Miss Melrose pageant will begin today, January 17. Pick up a registration form from Audrey in the office.
The 2012 Community Talent Show is Sunday, March 18. We are looking for performers! If you sing, dance, act, play an instrument, juggle, do stand-up comedy or have other talents to share, please talk to Stacey in the Community Education office about participating in the show! Thank you!
Yearbook staff will be selling Valentine carnations starting Wednesday, February 1st. Red = Love; Yellow = Just Because; White = Friendship; Pink = Secret Admirer. Cost is $2.00 and they will be sold during lunch.

Stearns County American Dairy Assn. (ADA) is looking for potential dairy princess candidates. If you are a daughter/sister of a dairy farmer or work for a dairy farmer and are between the ages of a senior in high school and under 24, you are asked to share your knowledge of the dairy industry and promote your family’s business and way of life to the public by participating in this year’s Dairy Princess Program. Pick up applications in the office. Forms are due back to me (Audrey) by Wednesday, February 8.
The next session of classroom drivers education is February 21 – March 5 from 3:15 – 6:15. If you are interested in this session sign up with Audrey – cost is $285.00 – they ask that you pay the whole amount or $50.00 down when you sign up and the rest by the first day of class. Make checks payable to Central Lakes Driving School.
Four lifeguards are needed during 6th hour on January 27. Please see Stacey in the Comm Ed office if you are able to lifeguard. St. Mary's students will be coming to swim.
Renaissance cards are ready for you to pick up. Also pick up a sheet explaining where you can get discounts and businesses who donated money for the program. If you enter these businesses please thank them for contributing to the Renaissance program. Your Renaissance cards are good from December 5 – February 17. Check the display case in the hallway across from the media center. Grades 9-12 pick your cards up from Audrey in the senior high office and grade 8 see Cheryl in the middle school office.
